Chemical synthesis and post-synthesis modification: Water soluble MQDs were synthesized using a method established in our laboratory at SUNUM (Patent Appl. No. PCT/TR2020/050115 and SU IP disclosure No. SUO175, date: 22/10/2019) in a three-step chemical reaction involving pure QDs made of core CdSe coated with gradient layers of CdS followed by a ZnS capping layer. Post-synthesis modification of synthesized CdSe/CdS/ZnS nanocrystals were subjected to ligand exchange reaction and chemical activation and the nanocrystals were made water soluble with available free -COOH and -NH2 functionalities for customers to use for their desired application.
