Bioceramics

Bioceramics are biocompatible advanced ceramic materials or metal oxides with enhanced sealing ability, antibacterial and antifungal activity applied for use in medical applications. They have the ability to either function as human tissues or to resorb and encourage the regeneration of natural tissues. Alumina and zirconia, bioactive glass, glass ceramics, calcium silicates, hydroxyapatite, and resorbable calcium phosphates are some of the most used bioceramics. Medical applications are a very demanding market where final products and implants must be uncompromising
