SUNUM e-Store is an on-line platform exhibiting and marketing the prototypes, products and services, yielding from research outputs and competencies of SUNUM Sabanci University Nanotechnology Research and Application Centre. SUNUM e-Store also functions as a virtual incubator facilitating the development of products and services for commercialization of academic outputs, by assessing and validating user and market feedbacks.
Sabanci University, Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM) is one of the four centers which has been granted a certificate of competency as a National Research Infrastructure of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, under Law No. 6550 in 2017.
It is a very special Research Infrastructure hosted by Sabanci University which ranks first in the National Entrepreneurial and Innovative Universities Index and holds significant positions in international world rankings such as Times Higher Education (THE) and Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).
SUNUM follows the unique example of Sabanci University for multi-disciplinary application oriented research with its “creating and developing together” strategy and “no departments, no walls” approach, complementing the research expertise of different internal units and external stakeholders.
SUNUM currently employs 86 full-time and part-time researchers, technical specialists, 63 doctoral students 16 administrative staff. It currently has over 100 active projects. in the fields of Nanomedicine, Nanotechnology, Smart/Advanced Nanomaterials and Micro-Nano Systems, re-focusing its research from basic science towards applied research of TRL 4-6.
With its vision of "A Turkey that generates added value through Nanotechnology", SUNUM carries out its activities in line with its mission of creating socio-economic added value and exploiting and disseminating academic research results for societal welfare.
SUNUM’s Labs are in geographic proximity to numerous leading industrial companies, technoparks and organized industrial zones. In collaborating with the industry, SUNUM establishes long-term collaborations highlighting the individual strengths of its industrial and academic stakeholders. It caters to the needs of the sector with a corporate approach, finding a capable multidisciplinary team with the required competencies to generate solutions, designing realistic projects and identifying the appropriate support tools.
