As the data controller, Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM) attaches utmost importance to the security and lawful processing of the personal data you share with us. This Privacy Notice has been prepared in order to explain which of your personal data are processed in connection with your use of the website located at www.sunumestore.com (“SUNUM E-Store”), the purposes for which such data are processed, and your rights under the Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“KVKK”), thereby fulfilling SUNUM’s obligation to inform pursuant to Article 10 of the KVKK.
In this context, we hereby inform you that your personal data may be collected, recorded, stored, preserved, updated, rearranged, disclosed to public institutions and organizations authorized by law to request such data, transferred to third parties under the conditions set forth in the KVKK, and otherwise processed, to the extent necessary, in connection with and limited to the purpose requiring such processing, and in a manner that preserves their accuracy and currency as notified to us.
Which Personal Data Do We Process?
For the purposes of activating your SUNUM E-Store membership and carrying out sales and payment transactions, we process your identity data, including your name and surname, tax identification number, and Turkish Republic identification number, as well as your contact and delivery data, including your telephone number, e-mail address, and address information.
In addition, data relating to your viewing of SUNUM E-Store pages, your use of website functions, and the transactions you perform on the website may be recorded and processed for the purposes of monitoring, maintaining, and improving the user experience.
How and on What Legal Basis Do We Collect Your Personal Data?
Your personal data required for the creation of your SUNUM E-Store membership, such as your name and surname, telephone number, and e-mail address, are collected through the membership registration form completed by you.
Personal data required for the execution of sales and payment transactions, such as your delivery address, tax identification number, or Turkish Republic identification number, are collected when such information is provided by you during the ordering process or, where necessary, through communications established with you by telephone or e-mail.

Purposes of Processing Your Personal Data
Your personal data are processed for the purposes of establishing and performing the contractual relationship arising from the orders you place through SUNUM E-Store, fulfilling the legal obligations incumbent upon SUNUM and SUNUM E-Store under the applicable legislation, and, where necessary, asserting and exercising our rights of claim, defense, and legal recourse in connection with potential disputes.
Sharing of Your Personal Data with Third Parties
Within the scope of our legal obligations, your personal data may be transferred to courts, public institutions, and public authorities in accordance with lawful requests and binding decisions.
Personal data necessary for the operation, management, maintenance, and development of the SUNUM E-Store website, as well as for the execution of transportation and delivery processes, may be shared with the relevant service providers.
In addition, personal data required for the exercise and protection of our legal rights in the event of potential disputes may be shared with our legal advisors and attorneys.
Your Rights
Pursuant to Article 11 of the KVKK, you are entitled to apply to SUNUM in order to exercise your rights concerning the processing of your personal data.
Requests submitted within the scope of your application shall, depending on the nature of the request, be concluded free of charge as soon as possible and, in any event, within no later than thirty days. However, where the handling of the request gives rise to an additional cost for SUNUM, a fee may be charged in accordance with the tariff set forth in the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller issued by the Personal Data Protection Board.
With respect to matters concerning the processing of your personal data, you may submit your application through the communication channels made available on the SUNUM E-Store website or, provided that the conditions set out in Article 5 of the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller are satisfied, by one of the following methods:
- By written and signed application
- By e-mail sent from your registered electronic mail (KEP) address
- By means of a secure electronic signature or mobile signature
- By using the e-mail address previously notified by you to us and recorded in our systems
Depending on the nature of your request and the method by which your application is submitted, SUNUM may request additional verification measures, such as sending a message to your registered telephone number or contacting you by phone, in order to ascertain whether the application has been submitted by you and thereby safeguard your rights.
For example, where an application is submitted through your registered e-mail address, we may contact you through another communication channel recorded in SUNUM’s systems and request confirmation that the application was in fact submitted by you.
